Advanced Penetrating Silane and Siloxane Waterproofing Solution
Nanotech Spirit Base is a high quality solvent free silicone concentrate based on silane and siloxane technology. It is diluted with organic solvents and used as a general purpose water repellent for impregnating and priming mineral and highly alkaline substrates. The product offers excellent penetration, fast developing water repellence, and tack free drying, and remains effective even when applied to damp surfaces. After application, it reacts with atmospheric moisture or pore water within the substrate to generate the active ingredient, which significantly reduces water absorbency without blocking pores or capillaries.
As a penetrating siloxane based sealer, Nanotech Spirit Base chemically bonds within the pores of concrete, brick, and masonry, preventing liquid water from entering while allowing high water vapour permeability. Because the protection is below the surface, it is not degraded by UV exposure and delivers long lasting performance, even in high traffic areas. Unlike surface sealers that erode over time, this solution preserves the natural texture and appearance of the substrate, maintaining its original matt or sheen finish.
Storage
Nanotech Spirit Base must be stored in a tightly sealed container at room temperature and kept away from direct sunlight. For optimum performance, the product should be used before its expiry date. If Nanotech Spirit Base is used after the expiry date, it may still be suitable for application, however a quality control check should be carried out on the property to be treated before use. Prior to application, surfaces must be clean, sound, and dry to ensure effective penetration and performance.
Nanotech Spirit Base is intended for use on a wide range of mineral substrates and applications, including foundation injection, concrete slabs, pools, sandstone, sand lime brick, marble, granite, brick, mineral plaster, and both concrete and reinforced concrete. It is also suitable for the treatment of rising and lateral damp, providing deep penetrating protection that helps reduce water ingress while maintaining the natural breathability of the substrate.
Application details
This product is suitable for imparting water repellence to absorbent and mineral based building materials, including all types of concrete, mineral plaster, cement fibre boards, sand lime brickwork, brickwork, aerated concrete, and both natural and artificial mineral based stone and mineral paints. Freshly impregnated surfaces should be protected from immediate rain exposure to ensure proper performance, and repeated treatments on previously treated materials should be avoided, as these substrates may no longer be able to absorb the solution effectively. The product is also suitable for use as a primer for exterior paints, but it is not suitable for rendering gypsum water repellent.
